Marco Island is the largest and most northern of Florida's 10,000 islands. It has a mix of single family homes and high rise condominiums. The island was developed by the Deltona Corporation in the 1960s. Founded by the Mackle Family, Deltona gained national recognition for Marco Island's success as a project. The Mackle Company was the largest homebuilder in the United States from 1958 through 1961. Although some of the homes on Marco Island are considered "inland" because they are not directly on the water, most single family homes are directly on a canal or waterway and have their own boat docks with boat lifts.
Situated at the northernmost point of the picturesque Ten Thousand Islands and just south of Naples, Marco Island, Florida is your island in the sun.
Marco Island is graced with miles of white-sand beaches, luxurious real estate, beautiful year-round weather, sumptuous restaurants, fine shopping, dining, lively entertainment, attractions and plenty of recreational activities from boating and fishing, to golf and tennis, and more. See the turtle nests (May to October) made along the beach, the burrowing owls on empty lots (and some not so empty), the ospreys teaching their young how to fly from the balconies of the high-rises along the beach, the manatees, the dolphins, the sandpipers and the big, fat pelicans dive-bombing into the Gulf for their dinner, all this and much more- all set amid the stunning subtropical beauty that is unique to Southwest Florida's Gulf coast.
Marco Island, Florida is an unforgettable paradise where memories are made and kept.
